Danzante Tours offers a diverse range of excursions for guests and members of Villa del Palmar Loreto, ranging from hiking and horseback riding to fishing and snorkeling. Dive into Loreto's aquatic wonders, and explore pristine beaches, remote Jesuit missions, and the majestic peaks of the Sierra de la Giganta mountain range. Here's a taste of the year-round adventures awaiting your Loreto vacation.


1. Snorkeling at Danzante and Del Carmen Islands: 

Explore the crystal-clear waters around Danzante and Del Carmen Islands aboard a comfortable boat departing from the resort’s beachfront at 9:00 a.m. Dive into the wonders of Loreto Bay National Park, a snorkeler’s paradise teeming with colorful fish, rock formations, and marine life such as sea turtles and sea lions. Keep an eye out for dolphins, manta rays, and migrating whales (seasonal from January to March) during the four-hour tour. Don't forget your reef-safe sunscreen!




2. San Javier Mission Expedition: 

Explore the San Javier Mission Expedition, beginning with a comfortable ride in a Mercedes van. Visit the historic Jesuit mission, dating back to 1758, and stroll through the quaint village. Admire ancient cave paintings and savor handmade tortillas and fresh cheese at a local ranch. Tours run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., offering panoramic ocean vistas on the winding mountain roads back to Loreto.




3. Fishing Loreto Style:

Hop aboard a 23-foot panga (skiff) with an experienced captain, departing from the resort’s beach at 7:30 a.m. Explore the fertile waters of the Bay of Loreto, fishing for dorado (mahi-mahi), cabrilla (sea bass), yellowtail, and other seasonal species on this six-hour excursion. The tour includes fishing tackle, a box lunch, refreshments, fish filleting, and the marine park fee. Gratuities and bait are not included.




4. ATV Desert Tour: 

Embark on a thrilling adventure through Loreto's rugged landscapes on an all-terrain vehicle. Our 2.5-hour Off-Road Runners tour includes a helmet, goggles, and bandana, as well as bottled water and soda. Receive training and test driving on a single or two-passenger ATV from experienced guides. With our pilots leading the way, explore the stunning desert environment of Loreto on zigzag trails that weave between the mountains and the sea. Morning (9:30 a.m.) and afternoon (2:00 p.m.) tours depart from the resort’s main lobby.




5. Twilight LED Paddle Board: 

Experience the magic of nature at night! Join us on a 1.5-hour tour for a unique adventure, as you embark on a nocturnal cruise aboard a paddle board in the Bay of Loreto. Led by an experienced guide, paddle towards the reef located south of Ensenada Blanca. LED lights attached to the bottom of the boards illuminate the seabed, attracting various marine species that are only visible after dark. Kayakers are also welcome to join. Recommended for ages 8 and above. Departures during the winter season are at 7:30 p.m., and during the summer season at 8:30 p.m., both departing from the resort’s beach.




6. Tabor Canyon Guided Hike:

Join an expert guide to explore the vast and ecologically diverse Tabor Canyon deep within the Sierra de la Giganta. Embark on a rugged hike along trails with an elevation change of over 1,000 feet, spanning three miles. Scale steep ridges, scramble over boulders, and navigate streams and waterfalls as you learn about the vegetation and creatures inhabiting this stunning canyon. This adventure is ideal for bold, fit, nature-loving individuals and includes snacks and refreshments. The trailhead is located approximately 20 minutes from Loreto, with tours available from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.




7. Horseback Adventure: 

Indulge in one of Loreto's most serene experiences as you traverse mountain foothills and gaze upon the Sea of Cortes on the horizon. The journey begins with a brief introduction and a 10-minute overview of horse management. Once on the trail, horses lead you through the desert, following one of the region's oldest roads and crossing several canyons. Along the way, an expert guide narrates the area's native flora and fauna, as well as the history of its early inhabitants.
